What is the Cat Osterman Experience?
The Cat Osterman Experience is the only all-inclusive girls' softball complex in the world. Hosted by Olympic softball gold medalist Cat Osterman, the tournament is a chance for players and participants to eat, sleep, and play softball on our 40-acre complex.
What is the price per player/coach?
For six days and five nights, the retail price is $599. If your team signs up now, however, you can take advantage of the special rate of $399 per player and coach. That price includes fourteen meals, lodging, an eight-game guarantee, and a coveted U.S. Girls Softball Hall of Fame bracelet and pendant that each girl will receive upon induction into the Hall of Fame.
What is the U.S. Girls Softball Hall of Fame?
In honor of their effort and accomplishments, the participants at the Cat Osterman Experience each year are inducted into the U.S. Girls Softball Hall of Fame. Upon induction, each player and coach receives the coveted U.S. Girls Softball Hall of Fame Ring and Bracelet. A photo of each player and her teammates will be affixed to a commemorative induction plaque for future enshrinement on the walls of the U.S. Girls Softball Hall of Fame. Each year the class is headed by two honorary class captains. The 2010 class captains are Olympic gold medalists Cat Osterman and Crystal Bustos.
Are the team clubhouses air-conditioned?
Yes.
Are there medical facilities on-site?
Yes. During the week of the Cat Osterman Experience, there is an EMT on-site 24/7.
What age groups are invited to play at the Cat Osterman Experience?
We currently invite twelve, fourteen, and sixteen, and eighteen year-old and under teams to the Cat Osterman Experience to participate in age-specific weeks. For example, if you are a fourteen and under team, only other fourteen year-old and under teams would be in attendance during your week.
Where is the Cat Osterman Experience located?
The Cat Osterman Experience is centrally located in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Will Cat Osterman be at the tournament every week?
Cat still enjoys playing professional softball for the Rockford Thunder and representing the USA playing on the U.S. National Team. Cat will make every effort to attend each week, but if she is unable to attend one of her Olympic teammates will be in attendance.
How many softball fields are there at the Cat Osterman Experience?
The Cat Osterman Experience has six softball fields.
How many teams a week can participate at the Cat Osterman Experience?
Thirty-two teams can participate in a single week.
Where do the teams that participate in the Cat Osterman Experience come from?
Teams participate from across the United States and Canada.
Where do the players' and coaches' families stay?
The Cat Osterman Experience is conveniently located next to a number of hotels and motels. Family members are encouraged to contact the Cat Osterman Experience travel desk and take advantage of the travel discount package that includes discounts at hotels, local restaurants, entertainment, and much more. Can I park an RV at the Cat Osterman Experience?
At this time RVs cannot be parked at the Cat Osterman Experience. For those with RVs, Haworth Park is located five minutes from the Cat Osterman Experience and offers a beautiful RV park overlooking the Missouri River.
Is Wi-Fi available at the Cat Osterman Experience?
Wi-Fi is available in "The Barn," our tournament headquarters.
Can a team participate more than once?
The Cat Osterman Experience is open to twelve, fourteen, sixteen, and eighteen and under teams, so a team may return as often as it would like as long as it fits into an appropriate age division.
Is the first $200 registration fee refundable?
Yes, the first $200 registration fee is fully refundable through November 10.
How many players and coaches can stay in the village?
The team clubhouses are designed to comfortably hold twenty players and coaches.
Are there a minimum number of players and coaches that need to attend the Cat Osterman Experience?
Yes, a minimum of eleven players and three coaches must attend. Our facility insurance provider requires that one adult must be present for every five players.
What is the age cut-off?
The Cat Osterman Experience follows the USSSA age cut-off of December 31 of the previous year.
Does the Cat Osterman Experience require proof of age?
Yes, your coach will need to show copies of the players' birth certificates when checking in at the Cat Osterman Experience.
Will teams need team insurance?
Yes, each team will need insurance.
